XML Sitemap

An XML sitemap is a machine-readable list of a site's canonical URLs that helps search engines discover and prioritize pages, especially on large or weakly interlinked sites. Honest lastmod timestamps matter — Google ignores the field once it catches dishonest values — while changefreq and priority are disregarded entirely. Limits: 50,000 URLs or 50MB per file; bigger sites use a sitemap index referencing multiple files.
