AI Mode

AI Mode is Google's fully conversational search experience: a dedicated tab where a Gemini-based model answers in chat form, supports follow-up questions, and cites web sources. It goes further than AI Overviews, which only summarize above classic results — AI Mode replaces the results page entirely. Launched in the US in 2025 and expanding since, it is now a standard surface in AI-visibility tracking tools.
