Schema Markup

Schema markup is structured data written in the schema.org vocabulary — a shared dictionary of types (Organization, Article, Product, FAQPage) and properties founded by Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Yandex in 2011. Each Google rich-result type defines required and recommended properties; missing required ones makes the page ineligible. Validate with the Rich Results Test, and audit periodically, since Google deprecates types over time.
